Serenity Yoga Center is located in a beautiful, relaxed, and serene setting. We offer semi private classes with exceptional instruction and personalized attention to each student. Classes are by reservation to ensure a designated spot for you to have a truly focus experience...where you walk away totally refreshed. Classes and workshops teach a holistic approach using the ancient techniques of yoga which emphasis the five points of yoga: proper exercise, breathing, nutrition, relaxation, and meditation/positive thinking.  We specialize in yoga wellness programs, private yoga, Boot camps, YogaLife Coaching, YogaDetox, SerenitySpa Yoga, Infrared Hot Yoga and more.... Hatha Dynamic Flow - Yoga postures are done in a sequence of flowing movement that promotes an internal heat that tones the muscles and purifies the body. The combination of breath and vigorous movement will encourage a strong physical yet meditate practice. There is very little rest in between postures making it a strong cardiovascular workout. A class will consist of seat postures, sun salutations, standing postures, balance, inversions, and final relaxation. (level one is for new or strong beginners) Level 2 is for individual's with a fundamental understanding of alignment and ready to be challenged) Flow classes are dynamic while offering a small portion for reclined postures and final relaxation.

Energize & restore Yoga. This class will have some warming up long holding yin postures to give students the time to work out the kinks and melt the tension away. Some props will be used to aid the body to stretch deeply while                         taking time to make adjustments to support the body. The class will emphasis proper alignment and breathing. Energizing sun salutation                       variations will be done to energize the body. While standing postures, seated poses, forward folds, balancing and final relaxation will be done to              restore the body. Excellent class for all levels as you will have time to either deepen or soften.You will have the option to modify or do the full                    posture. This class is  equally devoted to dynamic and Yin restorative poses.

Restorative Yoga-Is a gentle therapeutic style using a lot of supportive props such a blocks, straps, yoga ball, and blankets. This class can benefit everyone as we all need to slow down a little, get intuitive, and de-stress, and it is especially beneficial for seniors, individual in recovery, beginners, and anyone experiencing limited range of movement or discomfort.You will learn the fundamental of body awareness, alignment, breathing, and understanding your body to create a personalized practice that is your own.

YogaDetox- is our signature style of yoga, a unique blend of  holistic therapies and yoga postures to aid the body while cleansing from the inside out.  Classes vary, but often use infrared therapy, chi machine, and other treatments.

Infrared HOT Yoga-Experience the cutting edge benefits of far infrared heat and the ancient practice of yoga, a unique blend with excellent benefits. This heat is different than any heat you might have experience before, it feels incredible, it is not aggressively hot and it support detoxification while aiding muscles to lengthen and release tension. With Infrared yoga classes it will not be as hot as typical hot yoga classes and doesn't need to be as infrared gradually heats the body and works effectlively without being aggressive. Experience the only one of it kind here on the central coast. Far Infrared removes toxins, loosens the muscles & joints, burns calories, increases circulation, helps the body to recover, and much much more. In our Hatha Dymamic Flow class we offer one side of the room with infrared lighting/heat and the other side without heat.

SerenitySpa Yoga-(serenity signature style of yoga) Enjoy a serene candlite atmosphere while engaging in a flowing style yoga and ending class with therapeutic postures. Class varies but often include aromatherapy, hot towels/wash cloths, and other pampering treatments.

Kundalini Yoga- is the science of awareness, maintaining balance in body, mind, and spirit. Class begins with a meditative warm up becoming more aware of the breath. Physical postures are done in a rhythmic movement with the combination of breath. Then it will be followed by a kriya, a specific sequence of exercise. Each kriya has a cleansing purpose such as cleansing the liver, calming the nerves, strengthening the heart, etc...Class will end with resting pose and chanting.

Kids Yoga- Children's Classes promote the health of the whole child as they will learn the five point of yoga: exercise, breathing, nutrition, relaxation, positive thinking, through stories, songs, music, games, and movement. Classes include use of instruments for an appreciation of sound, rhythm, and singing. Yoga postures will be taught to improve listening skills, coordination, and flexibility along with benefits listed below.  Children will be allowed to do free dancing with colorful scarves along with structured yoga practice time. Benefits of Yoga: Improves learning ability, concentration, and coordination along with toning and strengthening muscles, joints, and ligaments. All throughout my life I have enjoyed movement, dance, surfing and being outdoors.  I discovered yoga in college in 2001 where I was instantly hooked. The first yoga class I took over 10 years ago in college transformed my life and has been doing so ever since. I could not believe how it made me feel, at the end of class I felt like I was floating out of the room, I felt lighter, free, more energy, and a sense of purpose.





I love teaching and sharing my passion for yoga. Yoga has greatly impacted my life and I love seeing the transformation it makes in the lives of my students in class and in retreat programs.Teaching yoga since 2003 has been an amazing journey, always learning, and finding expansion within myself. The energy that students brings to my life is such a gift. The wisdom of yoga is a wealth of knowledge and has inspired my own life deeply.

I am passionate about teaching the science of yoga and the ancient wisdom through yoga classes, wellness programs, and retreats. As the creator of BeFit Yoga boot camp and  Birthing with yogaTM, I love to see the positive impact theses programs can bring to real life experiences.  And I am excited to be able to launch the first ever Birthing with yogaTM Course online, a new and exciting program that not only benefits women locally but will inspire women internationally. Being extremely passionate about the benefits of yoga and teaching since 2003 has given me a opportunity to  work with students and their unique needs and how it applies while on the yoga mat and how it appliesoff the mat into life in order to experience inner expansion and joy.   So it is through personal extensive studies, certification, and personal experiences that I feel inspire to teach as a profession. 
We offer both dynamic and restorative yoga classes that can benefit both the new, beginner and intermediate yoga student. Both style are necessary and can be practice often, and doing vigorous and restorative exercise have equal importance. Come to class often and as regular as possible to see the full benefits.

Along with yoga, I also enjoy photography, painting, gardening, hiking, teaching, and enjoying God’s beauty. However, since my new baby leaves me with less time for hobbies, I’d have to say my new favorite interest is simply loving on my family.

Ever since I was introduced to it, I have been an advocate of yoga because of the way it can bring balance into all areas of life. I believe it is more than an exercise routine, but also a way of life, a spiritual path, a place everyone can come to be   themselves and find peace.










I became certified in Ananda Yoga in 2009 with a   desire to specialize in yoga for children, and I am looking forward to finally teaching              some child-centered classes at Serenity!   I hope to utilize my Early Childhood education and experience with my knowledge of yoga to open up the world of yoga to children in our community.

Being a new mom myself, I understand the need to get out and get moving, but always being so busy that it is such a challenge to do. Something as simple as taking time for “you” in order to be a healthy and happy mother often gets pushed to the bottom of the priority list.

I appreciated the importance of taking prenatal classes when I was pregnant, and I believe it’s important to continue on with yoga as a part of that mama-baby bond. It’s my love for yoga that keeps me practicing and teaching with the attitude that anyone can practice it, and everyone should at least try it.

Mukhtiar

Mukhtiar pronounced (Mook T. R.) is a Certified Ayurvedic Health Scientist and Kundalini Yoga Instructor.  After attending the California College of Ayurveda in Grass Valley, CA and yoga teacher training in San Leandro, CA, he visited India, touring and lecturing at many Ayurvedic Universities and Retreats.   Mukhtiar has been practicing Ayurveda on the Central Coast since 2008 and aspires to share the teachings with all.
